We ate at a fantastic restaurant for dinner. It was in an elegant building with cool view especially to the sunsets. The hotel had an unbeatable location really close to Largo do Pelourinho.
No complaints.

For those who enjoy staying in a 17th century convent, all the missing details will surely not bother you so much. The hotel is beautiful and very well located to tour the Pelourinho. The attention of the staff in general is excellent and makes up for many of the hotel's shortcomings, with the Reception Luiz standing out as being very efficient and pleasant, and Rogerio de la Seguridad, always well-disposed and smiling. You can also visit the convent church and take a tour of the surrounding cloisters. For those who enjoy gourmet food, do not miss the Poró Restaurant, a few meters away.
Lack of investment and maintenance, both in the common areas and in the rooms. In general, the upholstery is worn and looks old. The television in the rooms is also worn. The swimming pool and hydromassage bathroom areas lack renovation and cleaning. The restaurant and breakfast place sector is outsourced and could improve the quality of what they offer for breakfast.

There were brand-new & huge rooms with extra large double bed as well as hi ceiling. Had best possible location in the historic district with the best location, near historical buildings and monuments.

A uniquely restored historic building that respects very well the original setting without missing a modern edge.

hotel is in a convent from 1586 and building is truly fabulous, without a doubt what I liked the most, as well as the central patio where the swimming pool is located, views of that central patio and galleries with their comfortable furniture. restaurant is very good. hotel has a quiet and very pleasant atmosphere.
It's a hotel that's a little under-maintained. The upholstery on the couches lacks cleanliness. On the last day, the ceiling of the bathroom in my room was leaking a lot of water, the floor was very wet and you couldn't use the toilet because that's where all the water was falling. Although I called at 7 in the morning, I had to wait until 10.30 to finish making another room so I could use the bathroom. Besides having the plumber in the room doing the repairs while we were there. No doubt it was an inconvenience that complicated us and made us not be able to enjoy the last morning.

Beautiful hotel in the old centre of Salvador, with all the comfort you want. Nice outdoour area for lounging, good bar, nice swimming pool, all set in the beautiful garden of the old convent.
The dinner at the restaurant was not that special as one should expect regarding the prices they charge for dinner.

The hotel is beautiful, the buildings and decor are very tasteful. Also liked the bar and pool area. Beds have great linen
The staff were not always great, in fact some of the female waitstaff at the bar and breakfast were borderline surly and rude. I also think the food is over-priced. I asked for extra sliced tomatoes and they wanted to charge me R$11.00 which I found to be ridiculous.

The rooms at Pestana Convento Do Carmo are absolutely amazing! They are stylishly decorated with modern furniture and offer all the comforts you could ask for. With a flat-screen TV, air conditioning, and a minibar, I felt right at home. The bathrooms are also very attractive, with beautiful black granite countertops and rainfall showerheads. As a solo traveler, I loved the spaciousness and convenience of these rooms.
Personally, I wasn't a huge fan of the pillow menu. It's just a matter of personal preference, but I found the pillows to be a bit too soft for my liking.

Wonderful facilities in the Pelourinho district of Salvador
Serving staff quite familiar but even when low workload they seemed very slow. Location in Pelourinho and transport situation - very difficult neighbourhood. For your own safety need to take a taxi from hotel front door - those that apply the hotel rate are premium rates compared to ordinary taxis called by telephone. Given the thick walls of the convent the mobile telephone network is difficult to get any coverage!
